Russia has the widest chain of railway routes.

St. Petersburg is communicated not only with cities in Russia (Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok) but also with European cities (Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga, Kiev).

 

Trains to Moscow

сапсанIt has become very easy to travel to Moscow because of new line Sapsan. It takes about 4 hours to come to the capital of Russia from St. Petersburg. This high-speed train provides comfortable staying on it board.

 

 

 


Train to Helsinki

Train to HelsinkiThere are also a high-speed train to Helsinki called ‘Allegro’. It takes 3,5 hours to come to nearest European capital. Airport Helsinki is  well-know hub of different airlines and flight destinations.

  • Note, that due to the rules of Russian Railways, train tickets can be obtained not earlier than 45 days before departure.
  • There are no such things as "open tickets" in Russia and you can't do stopovers (unless you get a separate ticket for each part of the journey).
